BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a naturally occurring protein fragment identified in human gastric juice. Since its introduction into the scientific literature, BPC-157 has become the subject of numerous laboratory investigations and animal studies examining connective tissue biology, gastrointestinal physiology, vascular biology, and cellular signaling.

Unlike many investigational peptides that primarily interact with a single receptor or signaling pathway, experimental research has suggested that BPC-157 may influence multiple biological processes associated with cellular migration, angiogenic signaling, extracellular matrix biology, nitric oxide homeostasis, and inflammatory pathways.
